Uganda doesn't get the same attention as Kenya or Tanzania. That works in your favour. The parks are less crowded, the wildlife is genuinely good, and nowhere else in Africa puts gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, and Big Five game drives within the same eight-day trip.

This itinerary covers Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi — Uganda's best four destinations in one circuit.

Day 1 – Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Arrive at Entebbe Airport and drive north to Murchison Falls. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking en route. Arrive at the park, visit the top of the falls, check in and rest.

Day 2 – Murchison Falls

Morning game drive in the northern sector — lions, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, leopards. Afternoon three-hour boat cruise to the base of the falls. Hippos, Nile crocodiles, and the shoebill stork are the highlights on the water.

Day 3 – Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest

Early breakfast and drive south to Kibale National Park. Pass through tea and banana plantations. Check in and prepare for chimp tracking the following morning.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee Tracking, then Queen Elizabeth

Track chimpanzees through Kibale's well-maintained forest trails. Kibale holds one of the highest primate densities in East Africa — besides chimps, you'll likely encounter red colobus, blue monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon.

Day 5 – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Full day in Queen Elizabeth. Morning game drive across 200km of savannah — elephants, hippos, buffalo, lions, leopards, and tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of the best wildlife waterways in Uganda.

Day 6 – Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi

Drive through Ishasha to spot the famous tree-climbing lions before continuing south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check in, rest, and prepare for gorilla trekking the next morning.

Day 7 – Gorilla Trekking, then Lake Bunyonyi

Early breakfast and ranger briefing before entering the forest. Trek duration varies — anywhere from one to six hours depending on where the gorilla family is that day. You get one hour with the gorillas once found. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi afterwards for an overnight rest.

Day 8 – Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe

Relaxed breakfast overlooking the lake. Drive back to Entebbe with a lunch stop in Mbarara and a photo stop at the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe. Arrive at Entebbe Airport late afternoon.
