This is a proper East African safari. Eleven days covering five parks across Kenya and Tanzania — starting in Nairobi, crossing into Tanzania, working south through Arusha, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro, then north through the Serengeti before flying back into the Maasai Mara and finishing in Nairobi.

The itinerary is built around the two things East Africa does better than anywhere else: the Great Migration and the sheer variety of landscapes. No two days look the same.

Day 1 – Arrive Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your city hotel. Depending on arrival time, you can visit Nairobi Safari Walk, Karen Blixen Museum, or have dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Overnight in Nairobi.

Day 2 – Nairobi to Amboseli

Picked up at 7:00 AM and drive south to Amboseli via Emali. Arrive for lunch, then afternoon game drive. The plains hold jackals, hyenas, baboons, antelopes, and occasional leopards and cheetahs. Climb Observation Hill for views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Optional Maasai village visit at extra cost. Overnight Amboseli.

Day 3 – Amboseli to Arusha via Namanga Border

Early breakfast, en-route game drive, then drive to Namanga border crossing into Tanzania. Change to Tanzania safari vehicles and continue to Arusha. Afternoon walking tour of Arusha — the Clock Tower (midpoint between Cairo and Johannesburg), Maasai Market, Arusha Declaration Monument, central market, and Cultural Heritage Centre. Optional snake park visit. Overnight Arusha.

Day 4 – Arusha to Lake Manyara

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Afternoon game drive in one of Tanzania's most varied parks — famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, flamingos on the lake shore (November to April), hippos, and over 400 bird species. Optional visit to Maji Moto hot springs. Overnight Lake Manyara.

Day 5 – Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro via Karatu

Morning at leisure before driving to Karatu. Visit an Iraqw village, enjoy a guided coffee plantation tour, then continue to Ngorongoro. Overnight at the crater rim.

Day 6 – Full Day Ngorongoro Crater

Full day inside the crater — the most concentrated wildlife area on the itinerary. Lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingos, and one of Africa's last stable populations of black rhinos. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Return to the lodge late afternoon. Overnight Ngorongoro.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro to Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge

After breakfast drive toward the Serengeti. Stop at Olduvai Gorge — a 14km ravine where some of the earliest human fossils on record were found. Visit an authentic Maasai village en route. Arrive Serengeti for late lunch and an afternoon game drive. Overnight Serengeti.

Day 8 – Full Day Serengeti

Full day in the northern Serengeti following the wildebeest migration. Drive through the Lobo Hills — acacia woodland holding elephants, giraffes, and the predators that follow them. Continue to the Bolivian and Wogatende areas and the Mara River, where wildebeest and zebras cross into Kenya. Hippos and Nile crocodiles line the banks. River crossings are possible — patience and timing determine what you see. Overnight Serengeti.

Day 9 – Serengeti to Maasai Mara (via Tarime and Migori)

After breakfast, drive to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Tarime. Cross into Kenya by road through Migori, then fly to Maasai Mara. Arrive around lunchtime. Afternoon game drive. Overnight Maasai Mara.

Day 10 – Full Day Maasai Mara

Full day in the Mara — the Kenya side of the same ecosystem you drove through in the Serengeti. Lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and crocodiles are all here. July to September the migration herds fill the plains. Picnic lunch in the park. Overnight Maasai Mara.

Day 11 – Maasai Mara to Nairobi | Departure

Final morning game drive before transferring to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi. Transfer to JKIA for your international departure.
