A 3 days Maasai Mara safari gives you two full days in the reserve hunting for the Big Five and everything in between. You're not rushed. You're not on a quick tour-bus hop. You get time to actually sit with the wildlife, watch behaviour, and understand what you're seeing.


Maasai Mara is in southwest Kenya, and it's where the wildlife shows up. Depending on the time of year, you'll see lions—more of them than most places in Africa—plus everything else: elephants, buffalo, leopards, thousands of zebras, and wildebeest. From July through September, the whole ecosystem fills with migrating herds from Tanzania's Serengeti. The rest of the year, the wildlife is still there, just not in migration volumes.

Highlights

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

We pick you up in Nairobi at 7:00 AM and drive southwest toward the reserve. You'll stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint—worth the photo and a stretch. We arrive at the lodge in the early afternoon, get you checked in and fed, then head back out for a late-afternoon game drive (4:00-6:00 PM). This first drive sets the tone: you're spotting animals, getting used to the landscape, feeling the rhythm of the Mara. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Full Day Safari in Maasai Mara

This is the centerpiece of your 3 days Maasai Mara safari. You're in the park at sunrise and back at the lodge at sunset. We drive the reserve with a local guide who knows where to find lions, elephants, leopards if you're lucky. Breakfast back at the lodge before heading out. Packed lunch in the field so you don't lose daylight. The guide will position you for predator activity (early mornings and late afternoons are prime), and you'll learn to read animal behavior. You'll be tired and satisfied by nightfall.

Day 3: Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

One last early-morning drive while the animals are active. Late breakfast back at the lodge, then the drive home. We stop for lunch somewhere on the way. You'll be back in Nairobi in the late afternoon. (See "What's Excluded" below for lunch details.)
